On July 26th, 130 athletes lined up on the Dbayeh coastal road for the Rise and Raise Olympic Duathlon — 10K run, 40K bike, 5K run, open to every level.
The morning opened with rain. By afternoon, the sky had cleared into full summer sun. The course didn't change. The athletes didn't either.
Among them were several para-athletes, and this event marked a first for VO2 Atelier: the top three para-athlete finishers each received a Milestone frame — solid beech wood, hand-fit mats, glass built to disappear. The same build, every time, for every athlete.
We didn't add this recognition to make a statement. The achievement was already there. It just needed a frame.
Some crossed that road supported by a guide. Some pushed through hours of shifting weather most people would have called off the whole day for. Watching them finish was a reminder of why VO2 Atelier exists: a medal isn't the whole story. It's where one starts.
Thank you to Rise and Raise for building a day that made room for every kind of athlete, and to every participant who showed up rain or shine.
